Like many gecko owners, I tend to collect care books. The Leopard Gecko Advisor quickly bounced to the top of the list. I like the straightforward way the basic care is given. Roehner provides explanations as to why he uses certain methods, and he lists good alternatives as well.My favorite aspect of this book, and the reason I would now recommend it to anyone as the basic care book of choice, is the emphasis placed on socialization and intelligence. Anyone who has kept reptiles knows they have personality and the capacity to interact with their caretakers, but the topic of developing a relationship with your new reptile often is overlooked. Roehner includes fun stories involving his own leopard geckos to illustrate the extent to which they can bond with their owners.
This book is very well rounded, and it provides an excellent introduction to the proper care of leopard geckos.

I've had the opportunity to meet Ray and Carol Roehner of (Designer Geckos) when they had their store here in Colorado. I have purchased numerous Leopard Geckos from Designer Geckos. Prior to the release of their book "The Leopard Gecko Advisor", Ray and Carol have always took the time to explain their methodology of Leopard Gecko Care starting with the very first gecko I bought from them. Their methods is the pinnacle of reason of why my Leopard Geckos have thrived and are in top notch condition and health. My discussions with Ray and Carol at their Colorado store have lasted for hours on occasion. After reading this book, I can honestly say this book explains every method they taught me and more. Now that I own this book and no longer have the convenience of visiting them at their store in Colorado, I will continue to reference back to this book and all the important information Ray has offered to provide. While reading this book I felt the same passion I got when talking with Ray in person at their store. Ray and Carol with Designer Geckos are Top Notch with outstanding experience to Leopard Gecko care. This book is a must read for every Leopard Gecko keeper from the novice to the experienced keeper. A+++.
Excellent resource, I highly recommend even the most casual leopard gecko keeper to buy this and read it front to back! Anything and everything you need to know is cover in this book!
I just finished the book and loved it, the information is well put together and this probably the best Leopard Gecko book I have ever read.

This book is an amazing look into the lives and minds of our little Leos. Ray gives great insight into the husbandry of Leopard Geckos. A must read book if you care about your pets and want to learn more about enriching their lives. Ray also touches on breeding, selling, and other aspects of the hobby.
